YOU'VE UNDOUBTEDLY MADE A MARK, KING!
I wrote a presentation piece for a good friend taking a course in Culture and Community Development in the latter part of 2018 on the role/importance of mass media for community development; the passing of Chadwick Boseman today reminded me of that piece in which I dwelled so much on his movie, Black Panther for the importance of FILM for community development. I touched on how he as a movie character gave the Black community the representation they needed compared to the stereotypical roles the community is almost always known for before the release of the blockbuster. Talked about how the movie provided an avenue for black Americans to celebrate their heritage in a way they haven't done before. Attached are pictures of African Americans in their multitudes with their African dresses, head wraps, and what have you at the premiering of the movie.
